No Stubble at work.

I worked part time at Morrisons back when i was in the sixth form (soooo long ago !!), and i remember them making a member of staff go shave his stubble, he even had to buy a cheap disposable razor in store.

Wasn't something i had to worry about at the time :D

Yes they mentioned that during training. See they think they can force us to buy a razor during work and shave. It's preposterous to think anybody could tell me to spend my money on the spot because i don't want a bare face.

We need a picture of your stubble for reference. Some people can pull it off, but if you are like me with the worlds darkest, thickest stubble you just look like a homeless rapist after a couple of days. Im fine with that look btw.

It does sound a bit OTT considering the role.

One thing they need to tackle in grocery stores in the personal hygiene of the staff. No matter where I go in the country, Tesco and Sainsburys shelf stackers always seem to have at least one culprit who reeks so bad of body odour that it makes me gag.

Yes, there are a few who (and it's only been 4 weeks since my store opened) who stink like sheet.

Dya know what, if moustaches are allowed then it's on!

Am i right in saying this infringes my freedom of expression and that i can tell my managers to stuff it?

Do this about the uniform and shoes!

I think it's preposterous that a company you work for that focuses highly on customer service to request that you look clean and presentable.

Agree'd. Why did it take this many posts for a pic.

I have a 'designer' stubble. I say designer loosely. I have a itrim wack it on 2 and shave it back. Weirdly i turn ginger on the chin thats when its trimmed back. For a part time role it wouldnt do this for anyone. My mates a manager at a lidl and he has a lot of stubble..

get smart and shaved, or go work in the back at Pizza hut, your in a customer facing role, clean shaven and ironed shirt are a must.

take some pride in yourself man, next you will be telling us, you don't like using loo roll. :p

They used to moan about this when I worked in Tesco (about 10 years ago), my reply every time was that I was growing a beard. I never did, though. Eventually they gave up.
