No Stubble at work.

Agree. Picture of your stubble please.

I used to have shoulder length hair as a teen, and worked in co-op. Manager always said it was scruffy and a I needed to cut it. 3 years later, I left... went to uni, came back with a nicely shaved head lol (Family friends the manager and I). I still think that must have gawled him :-D

Also... I kinda agree... you should look presentable in a customer facing role.

Hello, can anyone tell me if this work policy is even allowed to be enforced?

Basically i have to be either bare faced or equipped with a Muslim face warmer at work. I got moaned at today for having stubble.

Am i right in saying this infringes my freedom of expression and that i can tell my managers to stuff it?

There is a big thing at the moment about uniform/personal hygine well there is at my store! All I can say is read your handbook and speak to a union rep, but I always have a little bit of stubble and nothing gets said!

I got this crap at an old job as the manager liked all his staff clean shaven and in the end I left because I ended up giving in, shaving and broke out in a crap load of spots (happens every time I have ever shaved). I haven't been clean shaven for 4 years now, always a beard or short stubble and still in a customer facing role.

Some people don't like beards, some people like them, but I bet no one likes to look at a guy who's taken a piece of sandpaper to his face each morning, with puss filled blobs all over the place. Shaving does that to me so I have no choice but to stand my ground, luckily the place I work at now don't have a problem with it.

it's a part time job in morrisons. unless you plan on getting promoted tell them to do one. they can't "make" you shave it. if it goes as far as written disciplinary then *think* about doing something about it, otherwise just say no

Problem is with these places, if it's 'company policy' and you signed your contract which will include accepting these policies, then they can ask you to do what they like if its 'company policy'. It's how they shaft you.

The company policy is vague so i would love to keep my stubble if possible.

Yes they mentioned that during training. See they think they can force us to buy a razor during work and shave. It's preposterous to think anybody could tell me to spend my money on the spot because i don't want a bare face.

You have been told during a training session and still choose to ignore the advice, not sure what you want GD to do ?

Maybe you need to find a new role which allows you to do as you please

I shop at Morrissons occasionally and there's a guy who works at our local store who has 'designer stubble'. I'd be telling them where to stick it.

I look about 10 if i dont have atubble. First of all though i would tell your manager to police his moustache before challenging your stubble
