Noctua NH-U12F - Mishima Review!

Would it even fit with orientation facing the rear exhaust? it looks very wide to even fit that way in an eclipse.
It would fit that way no problem, cause before I secured it onto the board when I opened the box I placed it over the CPU that way to see if it fitted.

Thanks for that PSU query, makes sense! :)

I have had mine a couple of days and also think its very good.

e6300 @ 3.150 / 1.4v
Here are my temps taken with core temp / loaded with orthos:

Stock: 65 idle / 83 load
Noctua 63 idle / 74 load

With a massive reduction in noise! I also got 2 120mm 800's and now there is no noise at all from my HS/Case fans (when they are on full you CAN hear them but when you turn them down the noise disappears and the GFX/PSU becomes noticible). Thats with the heatsink @ 1000 and the case fans at 550 rpm.

Still a bit hot for my liking but noise bugs me bigtime!

I have it mounted vertically and yes it fits in my akasa eclipse... just!

EDIT:
For comparison I have just turned all the fans to full:
58 idle / 66 load
And thats still quieter than stock (I forgot to say the stock HSF was running off the MB at full whack all the time for the temps above!)

With the fan on the opposite side to the exhaust on your case? Be interesting to see what the temperatures would be like if you had it horizontal, whether they would drop or increase!

My Arctic Freezer 7 Pro and e6600 at stock idles at 25C, ~50C load.

Overclocked to 3.6ghz 1.43V it idles at 33C, ~68C load.

I would say that these temps are reasonable enough for the heatsink.

The Tuniq Tower and other larger heatsinks would "probably" shed a degree or two off the load temps but not that much I guess.

No need to spend extra on these huge coolers which are a PITA to install anyway.

Just buy a cheap Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. :)

Nice review nonetheless.

Hey Mishima, nice review :)

If everyone took some time out to share like this the forums would be a better place!

The bit below really cracked me up!

Thanks Wayne :) I'll be doing another review very soon, Noctua have asked me to review their northbridge cooler, so keep a look out!!

No need for heating when you have temps like that, just huddle round the case in winter ;) 83 load! lmao! I'd be scared to run any sort of game.
