Noise Problems with PC

Hello all,

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - can't necessarily attribute it to a certain component (although I have a pretty good idea).

So I bought a second hand PC and it works great, exactly as I expected and just what I needed - except for the noise.

I wanted to use the PC for music recording/production, and as it came with NZXT Kraken X41 AIO watercooling I thought it would be nice and quiet, but it's by far the loudest component in the box and is easily audible when recording. Is swapping out the fan for a quieter option worth it/viable, and does anyone have experience with this particular unit and found the noise to be excessive for no load? I know the unit handles fan speeds in an odd way by running the pump through the fan header, which could create problems.

Secondly, there is a high pitched intermittent buzzing noise that isn't audible on recordings but will probably drive me insane in a short while. The buzzing doesn't seem to be related to anything, but I notice sometimes it seems to coincide with actions like alt tabbing. Pretty sure it's not hard drive or GPU related as I'm fairly certain it has occurred when they are unplugged (ignored this problem for a while so not entirely certain) and pulled fans out one by one to check them as well. I suspect this is some kind of capacitor problem but I don't really want to admit it - is this the most likely source?

Any help is appreciated!

Specs:
Intel i5-3570k 3.4GHz
NZXT Kraken x40 AIO
Corsair Vengeance White 1600mhz DDR3 2x4GB
MSI Radeon R6850
SilverStone Strider Gold 550W
ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe
Samsung Evo SSD 240GB
Toshiba 2TB 7200rpm 3.5"
AOC I2367FM 23”
Bitfenix Prodigy ITX White

(And yes I am going to change out that R6850 once I can)

Cap whines a bitch. Are the fans connected to the motherboard? If so maybe set up a profile to control the fan speeds? Or is it a loud gpu?

Yeah I've got NZXT Kraken control, fan speed is on a silent profile already and it's at the minimum speed allowed for usual temps (25% apparently, even though the fan speed is listed as 800-2000rpm, apparently giving me a speed of 500rpm...)

Edit: Checked the software again and there's a speed/time graph that says it's actually running at a fairly consistent 1000rpm

GPU processing very high FPS can cause whine sound, doesn't matter how simple the image may be if FPS is 'out of control' then it will whine

I seem to remember it happening before I put the GPU, and didn't happen in the previous PC it wasn't in. I'll double check tomorrow though. It's odd as certain particular things seem to stop it like searching direct from the start menu on 8.1, but the buzz still happens when just on the start menu.
