NOISE!!!!!!!!!

2 questions:

1. Why do people like vehicles that make lots of noise? Surely, the idea is for the car to be uber quick, while being virtually silent. This gives the impression that the car is so powerful/fast that it isnt even breaking a sweat.

My parents used to own a banger of a car and it was making a racket just before it was scrapped. I think the people on these boards who like loud cars would've loved that banger?

2. From what I understand, part of the MOT is for the vehicle to pass a sound test. Do these very loud cars pass their MOT?

I noticed that Spie's Ferrari makes a lot of noise and he and many others like the loud noise it makes. Personally, I like the smooth, fast and quiet cars. But each to their own.
 
1) if you have to ask this question you're not a petrol head. Simple

2) there is no noise level test on the UK MOT, but that video wasnt taken in the uk so god knows what the laws are like over there. Looks eastern european or something so they possibly dont even have any tests.

And if they did, the owner would put the standard exhaust back on every year for the test, then put the straight through pipe back on again for the rest of the year.

Are you comparing the noise of these cars to shopping cars?
 
errrm guys...it's a Lamborghini. In case you didn't know this means loud, in your face, italian beast, gullwing doors, bright colours etc...

This isn't exactly a Rolls Royce with a straight through.

A 10 cylinder Lamborghini designed to take you to 200 miles an hour will make a sound not achievable by a mass produced car designed for max MPG, refinement and value for money, no matter how hard you try or argue.
