noisy mybook pro drives?

anyone else find these drives very noisy? maybe its because its my first external drive but it really does make some racket when running scheduled backups etc. I have the 250gb one, firewire 800 edition. Very handy job by the way just a little noisy!

would think it pretty normal, the external drive I use with my iBook makes a bit of noise, doesn't really bother me.

cheers mate, most of the time the drive goes into power save mode anyways and is silent but just when it starts up and is in use its really loud! As long as it works ok i guess i wont worry too much about it.

i have a 320 mybook premium and its very loud
also the humming seems to get louder as time goes on :mad:
