Because for some bizarre reason people will pay a lot of money for a 6230i without a memory card slot and a little bit more internal ram in a slidy case if they are told it's 'exclusive'?

A classic example of bling economics....
TBH its a phone for chavs that really dont know better...

I wouldnt call the 8800 remotely exclusive, there are far more expensive phones out there that cost silly money - makes the 8800 look like a 6230i - oops forgot it is :p...

ps3ud0

Total waste of money. Maybe the screen maybe be stratch resistant but thats about it. Its a crap phone tbh for the money you have to pay for it.

Typical 'show off' phone.

Each to their own. I have had mine for 12 months, longest I have ever had a phone. I paid £99 on contract so wasn't that bad.

It may not have lots of features but it has everything I need.

Finding it hard to go back to plastic phones. If anyone owned one for 24 hours you know it feels quality.

im lovin the comments for the people who dont own one. I got mine for 700 nearly a year ago now sim free with a years insurance, to some people that may be a lot of cash but it wasnt to me. Now I know most of you would say im stupid for spending so much, but I like it, so I was willing to pay the price for it. Its been solid and mainly trouble free ever since I got it, and the 1hour repair service pays for itself. Ok it aint got the latest features etc, but I have other phones for that

Why does everyone with one assume that people without them can't afford them?
Because thats the sort of people that buy them 99% of the time. People that think most expensive is best, and if you have the cash you should buy it to show off your cash and not because its the best for what you want. Having said that I have had two, lol. But to be honest I've had most phones to see what there like, and I did very much like the 8800. Its feels nice in your hand and looks nice (imo) tbh if you want a simple phone then I would go for that, so i did. But after a couple of months I got board of it (easly done) and replaced it with summin that does more.

I find a lot of the comments here funny when there are plenty of people on this forum who pointlessly buy computer hardware when what they have is 'good enough'. It's entirely up to the individual as to how they wish to spend their money.

I have a 9300i for internet and email functions, but if i wanted a phone simply for phoning, personally I would get a smaller phone than the 8800.

Just drove over my mates one and no scract hto the screen or damgie, fact it fixed his case that was dented.

They work

They sexy

They the flag ship

Stainless steal

Bling

You know it's there

You like someone high power in a suite with it (i pulled with such activity in some posh place)

Need i or other have to go on more

The 8800 is actually one of the smallest phones Nokia has ever made in terms of total phone volume. :p

Wait?
Is that a joke?!

Well theres another 'special edition' 8800 out now for about £640:eek:. The main differences being its now in a gun metal colour and also has a special engraving on the back which says...special edition 8800...oh not forgetting its tied in with Porsches Anniversary of the Boxster:rolleyes::p

Tbh im not that impressed with the phone, used my cousins for a few days and i couldnt justify the cost of one...hardly any features for the price it sells at...thats what makes me laugh...people are willing to spend a lot of money on a phone that doesnt really stand out. Hell my w810i does a lot more than the 8800 and that only sells for about £270 sim free.

ironically, i'd never tap a girl i could pull with a phone and a suit.

congratulations on all your success, though.

W810 is made of plastic though, and doesn't scream the same style as the 8800 does. That's exactly how the 8800 stands out, so I think you're missing the point somewhere :p
