Nokia N80

Do orange screw with the phone software in the same fashion vodafone do?

Yep they do, in fact they are probably just as bad as Vodaphone when it come to operator branding. Yes you can get it removed but its a bit of a hassle. Although orange and other companies may have better tarriffs etc, o2 dont mess with their phones as much as orange or vodaphone do. Dunno about T mobile but they also mess with the phone software as well, maybe not as bad as orange and vodaphone.

But then on the other hand i havent upgraded my phone through o2 for a very very long time, i tend to buy my phones sim free and unlocked. Expensive habit indeed lol:p

Phone can easily be de-branded via a few online places.

You pay £15, send the phone to them, they flash the phone with the latest manufacturer firmware and send it back the same day as recieving it.

I had a chat with o2 today through their CS and they still had the N80 down for a 15th May release and also the N91 for a 8th May release :)

My upgrade is on the 2nd May so i should be getting it as soon as it comes out :D

t3h

Well looks like according to one online major retailer, cant name them sadly because they do a lot of stuff that OCUK do. Anyways they are now allowing you to order the black version of the n80, which is on a special request order.

Price looks to be going down a bit, originally over £600 but now down to £530 which isnt a lot as ive seen another site thats doing them for £440 but this place seems to be based somewhere in Europe although they have a uk number??.

EDIT: Actually they are based in Portugal and doing a bit of research shows that they seem to be above board. Seems a damn good price for the phone tbh, am contemplating on whether to order it or not. They do take paypal and ship via fedex within 24 hrs.

Gonna wait till tommorrow morning and ring them up and see if they are genuine or not.

Either way i will be getting a black unit so stay tuned for a review sometime early next week :).
