Tytn II's GPS is a lot better than you will get on the Nokia n95.
negligable.

The better 'phone' of the 2 is without doubt the N95 8gb, it has a far better camera, faster more stable OS, a decent GPS, looks better (the tytn is bulky/looks pretty geeky imo) and good media capabilities as you mentioned. As far as apps - Symbian has literally tens of thousands of apps you can install so I dont think you will be left wanting for apps! The Tytn is better for pda functions.
Making phone calls mainly and the odd bit of texting.
If making phone calls and the odd bit of texting is all you are wanting the phone for then get something like a K800i and stick the rest of the cash in your pocket.
You'll be able to buy a dedicated sat nav unit and still have change as well.
all same price but I suppose I could sell whatever I get and get the K800i except I detest sony ericssons! Just a personal thing.
negligable.

Sorry but no, the N95-2 is a very good phone, but the GPS is poor, so much so that i have gone back to a standalone device in the car.
It is poor,it gets 'lost' quite easily in built up areas, which is no suprise as it is only a 8 sat chipset.

I think the N95 GPS is pretty spot on if you upgrade to the latest firmware, in fact I've done the reverse to you and got rid of my Garmin Streetpilot as Garmin XT on my phone does just a good job. I used it in the City last week and didn't see any impact being surrounded by tall buildings other than taking about 30 secs longer to get a lock.
