Non stick pans.. that last!

I'm looking at getting a cast iron skillet/frying pan, for cooking steaks on a gas hob mainly - Just using a tefal non-stick at the moment which is fine but want something where dropping a steak on it won't cool the pan down too much...

Theres quite a few on amazon etc. for about £30-£40, any reason to spend more?

Cast iron, no not really, you are paying for a fancy handle.

That being said, do not underestimate having a decent handle on a cast iron pan.

Looks like it has a decent sized handle for the money:

A lot of those ones on Amazon have tiny ****** little handles you need an oven glove on to move it and will be uncomfortable.

I paid £130 for mine, it is nice though big wood handle and you can cook an egg of it without it sticking, you don't need to spend that much though.
