Non traditional board games

Wahey! Wife had an email to let her know that she/we won the Saturday QI Code Treasure Hunt at the UK Games Expo!

Waiting for a response to find out what we've bagged, but the website states "a treasure trove of games". :D:D:D

I keep seeing some really exciting board games on Kickstarter, but just can't justify the severe shipping costs. :(

FALLEN, for example, looks exactly like the kind of game that would rock the wife and I's socks off but I just can't consider paying so much when it'll likely hit UK retail eventually for £34.99 or so -- and their shipping price is about $10 less than most others!

Cue the Benny Hill theme tune...I don't think this X-Wing will make it out alive.

Great game. Pricey to get into. Now that Star Trek: Attack Wing is due using the same Flight Path system I feel my wallet will take a hit. Not to mention Wave 3 ships for X-Wing due soon too.

Yep, I have it. Easy to play and easy to learn to good for people who don't play these sorts of games often.

Exactly why I am getting a copy. To play with my mum and dad and their friends. They like card games.

They've played Lords of Waterdeep, Forbidden Desert, Ticket to Ride and enjoyed them but they've not played a deck builder yet. Dominion makes sense. Plus I want it. Seems to be out of stock most places with the expansions even more so.

Is that one of the Gale Force 9 mats?

Agreed, it's a pricey game once you get past the starter set. No more expensive than most wargames though.
