noob needing spec check

gpu is now orderd, i have decided against the 7950 and have gone for a 7850 as they are well proven on the forum and ive watched a few vids on youtube of gameplay at stock clocks with them and they are fantastic.

ive gone with a sapphire non overclocked version, but it still has the great cooler and the minimal overclock the oc version comes with isnt a big difference when im going to go over 1000mhz core :P

website i orderd from hasnt got the sapphire instock, so that will be delayed, but ive dealt with the company before and they have always been good so im not worried about that. in other news

new keyboard has arrived now!

microsoft sidewinder X4. it matches the red l.e.d's in my case and it has great reveiws. it feels sturdy, nice quality feel and the keys have a nice "thud" sound when your tapping the keys.

cheers mate, it was a steep learning curve.

i realised sticking a pc together was relativley easy after i pulled apart an old computer we never used and then put it back together(it still worked :P)

im not finished with this yet though, there are a few things im going to change, better dust filters, modular psu, colour coding, new motherboard (to colour code xD) also im going to braid the cables to match the general red/black theme.

if anyone wants to know the price, it came to just about £1000 for everything. sounds like a lot of money but i havent found a pre built system (not from ocuk) that can match the performance for £1k so really its good value

small update on this

after being sick and tired of slowly loading pictures off my cameras sd card by connecting the camera up to the computer i have purchased this

it has a lot more ports that i probably wont ever use but it does have 2 usb 3.0 panels which i only have at the back (these have to be connected to them as i dont have a correct adaptor for the internal ones. it also has a nice black brushed aluminium finish which is another reason i got it as the plastic faced ones always look grey in the pics.

this is it fitted

had to run the usb3.0 cables through the top of the case but ive managed to tuck them up and around the rear fan so they are hard to see

also you may notice the heatsink is now turned around, this is due to me now having the 7850 in place, the back of the processor on the card was right under the cpu heatsink fan and it was drawing a lot of hot air into the heatsink from the backside of the card processor during games.
