Noob watercooled build..

they are and they're too ****ing small, they fall straight through the drilled holes in the rad cowling

UV kit turned up today from A.N other... ;)

Yep, ended up ripping all the foam that thermochill supplied with the rad off and cleaning all the sticky stuff left behind off before fitting the rubber silent pins supplied by the fan manufacturers.
So with double the rad core and the quad nozzle in the D-tek block I have lowered temps by two degrees under load and virtually silenced the fans.

I've tried both ways, several times. On an uneven surface ( aka Non-Lapped IHS ), the line method seemed to do better as the TIM spreads thermally with use. On a Lapped surface, the thin 3mil even spread across the IHS seemed to do better for me. Also, the TIM needs a few days to really come into it's own, something to do with the Silver Nitrate crystallization or something along those lines ( no pun intended ).

No scientific data to support the claims, just general observation from my experience.

Nice Box by the way !!! and yes, pizza & builds go good together, as does a few pints to forget the nicks and cuts one gets :D
.

Might have been a bit keen with the temp change, perhaps still a few bubbles floating about...

3.8Ghz now at a max of 56 degrees so far...

Back at 3.73 Ghz for now as I've had a number of application hangs on 3.8Ghz.
Too much of noob to work out what it is I need to improve.

So for now just a short thumb twiddle..

thats expensive! i bet those babys will serve you very good! show us some min/max fps in some games when you got those rigged up.

Loving the build Nokinidea!

I've got the same case but mines empty as I'm doing my build when Nehalem is out. I'm also going to get mine powdercoated but I haven't decided what colour scheme I want. I'll keep mine black on the outside but want the internals a different colour.

Why don't you consider getting the Drive Bay - HDD converter? I've got it and it frees the bottom compartment up so you can fit a Thermochill PA120.3. Or it just gives you more space and finishes the front off with a nice Silverstone logo brushed aluminium panel / fan.

Just a thought. Look forward to your updates.

Ooooh:cool::cool:
Will look into that when I get home from work...

*slightly* OT, RoEy, where did you/are you going to get your powdercoating done?

Only slightly? Damn! I haven't got it done yet but as soon as I decide on the colour it's ready to go. Don't know if I can say where I'm getting it done on here. Your welcome to email me - [email protected]

Nokinidea - The Bay-HDD just finishes the case off in my opinion. Otherwise there's too many drive bays. The converter takes up three bays and gives you space for 4 HDD's.
