We had to stop the war!!

People were being killed all through the Asia Pacific.

It had to be stopped. We could have either Invaded the Country or blown it up a bit.
What we did stopped the war but was with the less evil.

Those guys in the Jungle were trying get to Australia, They were stopped by Australian Forces in Papua New guinea, That how far they got!!
Lots of people were getting killed. If the war didnt get stopped a quick as possible a lot more people would have been killed.
Those guys in the Jungle are some of the reason we had to stop the war, We had to stop them from pushing forward and had to get them out the region.

Persuade the Japanese to surrender ? Without the nuclear devastation unleashed on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I fear that would have been a nigh on impossibility, even through one man. As distasteful as I fond it and the horrors that the world saw, it was either that or an invasion of the Japanese homeland and islands which would have brought huge loss of life on both sides and the war would have gone on.

Japan was already in negoiations to surrender through mediations with the Soviet Union. Furthermore, the Emperor (who the Japanese believed was a god) had been making several messages of peace. If the USA had actually negociated rather than making demands they knew full well the Japanese would be unable to accept, the bombings could have been avoided. The bombings were a political attack on the Soviet Union and as mentioned before, the start of the cold war.
