Norwich Union - Hopeless

I would cry if £180 left my bank account every month and all I had to show for it was an old Rover 214.

And to avoid being slated for being anti rover, I'd cry if £200 left my bank account every month for insurance and all I had to show for it was a Ford Mondeo.
When I was 18 I had £120 leave a month for a flipping saxo. I wouldn't have minded if I'd insisted on wanting one but I only got it because a friend of my dads who was at the car auction with me thought it was a nice car, and the alloy wheels and spoiler wouldn't affect my insurance too much  I was glad when some dozey woman wrote it off :p However I then ended up paying about £200 per month for the last 3 months of cover as I got a focus, not much I could do though as I didn't want to give up my NCB. It was an expensive first year for insurance :p

Took me 26 minutes to take out the policy, that I already had online, because the woman couldn't understand me  She even asked me to do a survery at the end, and told me to press 5 everytime (to say she was great :o)

I know people here **** Flux off all the time, but I really haven't been able to fault them in 5 years, one call to NUD and they got my back up right away. Even Privilege were quite rude to me on the phone when I was getting a quote last year, must just be me!
I had the same experience with Flux and now again with HIC. Even if they aren't initially the cheapest I've found them good for matching quotes and HIC let me do any mod that doesn't affect power without it harming my premiums.

I ended up speaking to the same guy three times when I was sorting my insurance with HIC:).

Norwich Union wont give me a quote for my car 2.0L 307 XSI not sure why its not exactly the most powerful car in the world. My insurance quote this year was just over £1050 with admiral.

To get told that they wouldn’t quote me took me about 5 phone calls and even then i was on the phone for a good 30 minutes.

I am glad they didn’t quote me they really do suck.

At the end of the call the man on the phone said “you to young to drive big car”. 19 at the time with no claims bonus.

had the same problems with my focus, they gave me a quote I explained the modifications, I had to explain it 5 or 6 times because they couldent understand a word of what I was saying and she said the cover note was on its way, I thaught it was far too cheap, then to mu un-surprise "no modifications"

I had already been driving for a week!, I rang them , insisted on speaking to an English person, to which I was called racist. I eventually got through to someone english and she added the mods free of charge and apologised! Result in the end, but I will never go with Norwich union ever again!

yep, NUD are carp, I wont be using them again. I've now paid up, but am still in dispute with them..

Basicly they carried on *** insurance from last year, never sent me any invoices or Certificate of insurance. then a month later suddenly sent me a bill i was like WTF. phone up and cancled it. Got put thought to the complaints office who didn't pick up. So customer service put a note on the file asking them to ring me back within 48hrs which they didn't. Roll on a few months and still havent got though on the phone. Final warning came though so I've paid it. Don't wont my credit rating tarnished. But have written them a letter of complaint. To there head office.

Hi there

I've dealt with Admiral and Elephant for my insurance on several cars and have gotta admit they have always been one of the most competitive. When it does come to cancelling policies, making claims or ammending policies they have always sorted things out. Not sure where there staff are based as it seems 50/50 if you get somebody who sounds English or Asian but on all occaisons they have always been helpful and done as requested. :)

I am now with an American Specialist and even have my own couple of contacts who sort things out instantly. My insurance was only just over £500 fully comprehensive which was about £45 a month:D but I just paid it all up front which is what I tend to do now as I've not had an insurance quote on any vehicle now thats been over 1k, so easier just to pay it off in one go and have less activity on the bank account. :)

I've moved to NUD this year - mainly because of the really good price.
My insurance was up for renewal in January and I used one of the online comparisson websites and NUD came up the cheapest by far.

I was going to go with them - I went to the site to make sure I was comparing apples to apples and that the policy conditions were the same as my old insurance.
I then got a call from a UK person for NUD asking if I was happy with the quote I'd got.
I was happy (it was the cheapest) however he didn't stop there.
We went through a couple more options - adding on a couple of features, adding on other bots removing others and the policy price kept on going down overall.
He then said would I be interested in taking it.

I told him that as they charged a surcharge for phone policies I'd do it online.
He said that because he'd called me there would be no surcharge so I pay as if this was all done online.
We then went onto breakdown cover and he gave me a really good quote on 12 months cover and the final cherry being 14 months cover for the price of the 12.

Let's hope that if in the unfortunate case I need to make a claim they don't mess me about.

phoned back today and got hold of someone that could actually speak english \o/

Went through my problem and then when I mentioned the modified engine the chappy on the other end told me norwich dont deal with modified engines and that they couldnt insure me !

So guess that means I wasnt actually insured then??

Bunch of frigging losers.

Cancelled next years insurance and now getting qoutes off a few others.

now means I cant drive car till 19th aprill as I need to wait till this years ins has ended.
