you should be sorted then, Enjoy WOW, all thanks welcome!

As an aside (that is to say, a rare fact). It runs fine on my 2GB X2-3800 with 7800GT. That is fine as in 25fps in a full Battleground with Quite A Lot happening. That's when PSUs aren't expiring on me at any rate.

There's probably a knot in your network cable that's slowing the packets down. Untangle it and things should run faster.

Should I change my 4870 to a 280? Would that help? I tried using a different network cable and it's still at 60fps. Maybe the 280 could handle my mouse, as it's supposed to be better at gaming and I have a gaming mouse

Your best bet is to speak to a member called dvdbunny, he's a guru on gaming specs.

Sounds like an ID10T error, unlucky.

Am i right to say Dvdbunny was the guy that could run crysis everything on with just 1 gig of ram.............Oh no not another one!!!:D

What kind of mouse? It might be too much for the 280 to handle. You'll probably have to go for the 4870X2, or SLi a couple of 280's. I'm suprised your mouse even runs on a 4870.

This thread is a classic wind up!

In my P4 3ghz with 1gb ram and a 6800gt can run wow perfect then he is doing something wrong.

Maybe i have a better mouse?..........

Well my mouse has 2000-DPI, so ideally my GPU would have 2000 stream processors so each precision dot could be handled seperately. I'm told it should run on a 4870 though, since the clock is fast enough to run 2 or 3 dots per stream processor almost simultaneously. Maybe more speed is required though, I'm just concerned as the 280 has less stream processors and that's obviously quite essential in what kind of periferals I can use.
I will be changing my mouse though, look at this baby

A gaming mouse designed for WOW, I think all your problems are solved. It should run like nothing else once you have that in your possession ;) Remember tri-Sli gtx280's to run a mouse like that!

My old geforce 4 played wow. This is ridiculous, your mouse doesn't have an adverse affect on your system. Your character won't be deleted, you can re-install vista or xp, you can... aw man this is just far too annoying.

/facepalm
