I don't see a problem with going out with someone of a different race, and I know I would if I found them attractive and got on well with them.
However if they were very religious (regardless of their race) I might be slightly wary if they seemed like they'd try to force their views on me, but then again I'd be the same if anyone tried to force any kind of views on me because I'd much rather they respect my beliefs and values.
 
there are people you find attractive and people you dont ... race is not even an issue in this....

as many people have said culture and religion can be more of an issue ..

personally im very open minded, but and i know this is a stereotype but a lot of the more "old fashioned" cultures have issues with their sons and daughters going out with people of a different racial/cultural/relgious background...

which is why i think culture and religion often just get in the way .... i might be a godless cultureless heathen but thats your hangup not mine

Do you not think following a religion because you 'should' or simply because of tradition completely devalues it?
 
Personally, I would go out with a girl of any race but as far as having children goes, I think she would have to be white and christian.

I think I probably would. I never have done, and I'm now married, so it's something of a moo point, but in principle I reckon I would.

I reckon it's fair game to say you wouldn't, if your reasons were OK. It's fair enough to say you're not attracted to blondes, so it should be fair game to say you're not attracted to blacks. It's fair game to say you're not interested in certain things so wouldn't date someone who was, so likewise culture is fair game to a good extent. However, if it were on the grounds of race alone, I'd say that wouldn't be OK.

I remember doing some stuff in psychology A-Level about how young kids can tell the difference between races and are drawn to people of the same race as themselves.
 
It's not just about race, ethnicity, religion as well as social status can be as much of a reason not to date someone. Of course I don't think like that, my girl is from Bulgaria and I don't really mind that, there's no reason. It would be foolish for me or her not to date eachother because we are from diferent counrties.

There are, though, peolpe who look down on other nationalities, for example some Americans might think they are better that the Mexicans because a lot of poor Mexicans come to the US to look for a job.

Equally there's no reason not to date someone because they are not white. However I know people who don't want to date other races because, aparently, "they smell".
