Not seeing a massive difference with 4K

I think there is some confusion here about what upscaling is. You're no more playing at 4K than I am driving a Ferrari with my Ferrari branded Thrustmaster steering wheel lol. ;)

Question

Have you actually tried running games at Native 3840x2160, regardless of how they run (terribly), they will look so much better than when they are being upscaled from 1080p.

I read that as he's running it at 1080p so can max settings, with the projector doing upscaling, though the question becomes that if he can't notice the difference between 1080p and 4K then why waste £8k on a projector in the first place

I'm surprised that someone with an £8k display is only running on a single 970. Seems a bit of a mis-match.

I googled that darbee thing... the demo on the website looks very impressive... until i actually compare a scene from a bluray i have and their "darblet on" image looks exactly like the bluray and the "darblet off" image looks like blurry crap

It is just more post processing - the type of crap most people turn off on their tv's

This is the opening section of Crysis3 from standing in the rain to getting inside the building using Quad SLI 980s @4K maxed settings.

Frames, 4564,
Time (ms), 95515,
Min, 24,
Max, 67,
Avg, 47.783,

Crysis 3 scales well even with 4 cards so it does not take too much maths to work out what the OP will get with a single GTX 970, about 10 fps.

hmmm so probably 4 years till we get a single card that can run crysis 3 @ 60 fps @ 4k

thats madness isnt it.

No. The maddness is looking at the performance increase for the pass years, 4 years for single card to be able to do that you are seriously over-optimistic :D Two cards though...there might be some chance of that being possible :p

I'd be gutted with that performance on quad SLi!
