• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Not seeing a massive difference with 4K

Run at 3840×2160 and then see the difference.
Otherwise i'm thinking:

a) You have poor vision and quality images are wasted on you
or
b) You're lying.

I have a 1080p TV but am struggling to see the benefit.

Am Running Doom 2 at 320x200 if that helps?

You need to download Zdoom, or if you have a 3D accelerator then GLoom, these will enable you to select 1920x1080 resolution.

You may need to toggle on the "turbo button" to keep FPS playable :P

1080p stretched on a 116" screen has got to look awful. Upscaling or not.

It depends on the viewing distance. I've been to see several streamed live performances at my local cinema. According to the test cards, the data streams were only 1080i. The images weren't quite as sharp as normal cinema images, but they were far from awful.

a projector with 10,000,000 pixels can still look rubbish with poor contrast, uncalibrated colours ( most are way out on installation ) incorrect focus, bad screen posistion, bad gain mismatches, hot spotting and sparklies ( glass beads) , scaling issues etc....

so running a 4k projector ( is it native 4k or just an upscaling pixel e-shift model like JVC) @ 1080p .. you cant even begin to judge 4k..

not because 4k is bad or good its just that its only a small percentage of what makes a good image

Be prepared for savage input lag

Yep, I did my research first.

I use a P55VT50 at the moment which has the same level of input lag.

It's pretty much the best 4k TV for gaming as it stands.

Console/ PC Gaming
The Panasonic AX802/ AX800 is a gamer’s dream, boasting not only the lowest input lag among the 2014 batch of 4K TVs (our Leo Bodnar tester registered a reading of 37ms with [Game Mode] enabled), but also full 4:4:4 chroma reproduction up to 3840×2160 resolution at 60Hz either through the DisplayPort or HDMI 4 input.

Another praiseworthy feature that Panasonic has introduced since last year is designating 'Game Mode' as an on/off setting which can be applied to every picture preset, rather than segregating it as a separate picture mode which is typically not calibration-friendly. Accurate images and suitably fast gaming responsiveness are both possible simultaneously on the TX-50AX802.

33ms is nothing, and I play with a controller pad from my sofa anyway.

33ms, is quite good my 4K LG is listed at 85ms I think, which is not good, probably less with all the processing turned off in game mode.
