Context is everything. Public, like in a shopping centre or the doctors surgery then no. Public as in a club, a rave or a carnival, then not a problem, with consenting individuals.

Leeds festival 2018. 50 people arrested, 34 drug related the rest made up of sexual assault up to rape and drunken disorder. 2019 1 person dies at Leeds, 1 at Reading, currently being investigated but signs point to drugs. 1 person died at creamfields, again drugs.

350 arrests at the Notting Hill carnival 2019, 1 mil people attended compared to 75k ish at the above festivals.

Id say my comparison was very valid. These crimes shouldnt happen at any festival but lets not make out like other festivals are fine and dandy.

Im not condoning anything, simply pointing out that crime happens when you get numbers together. Its all disgusting however the "white" festivals, and lets be right here...theres a reason why this has got any traction in GD, also have ridiculous crime levels, sexual assaults, death by drugs and tools setting tents on fire.

I may of been lucky with timing but it wasn't too bad this year, at least from Tottenham Court Road to Hainault anyway. Usually, it's unbearable.

Most of the criticsm of the NH carnival is how 'revellers' actions effect others.... Either other attendees, residents or the police.

Someone dieng after taking drugs at a festival is a problem but of a completely different type now...

To point out the obvious conclusion that if the NH festival wasn't a quite heavily afro Caribbean affair that it would have been cancelled or moved to a better suited venue years ago?
