Now I'm here I have questions

Right solved that, now it seems to be running OK but just now both versions got to 100% of the first frame and then sat there without loading another :(

Will try again

that's just EMIII getting confused with how long a frame will take - it doesn't receive information from the client to tell it how far through a frame it is, it's just based on how long the last frame took. since you've stopped it and restarted the client then EMIII will think the frame only took a couple of minutes instead of 15-20 (or whatever it is for that WU/machine)

I found more information on the "potential conflict" problem here if it's of use - basically if windows shuts down before the client has deleted the lock file (as Berserker mentioned) then when you restart the client it will see the file and assume it's already being run

edit: if you've actually solved it then was it related to problem a perchance? :p

Yes is was related

Does this mean that EMIII is useless with 2 versions running in HT?

what he said ^^^

if it's any comfort FahMon has the same problem until 2 or 3 clear frames have been run - up until then you either get no ETA at all or one that's quite wrong :p

the best thing to do is find something to keep your attention for 30-45 minutes and hope that when you come back you have a decent ETA - ring a loved one/stroke the cat/eat the dog :D

check at the start of the logs for the current session and check for something like this in each one...

Project: 2385 (Run 1, Clone 3, Gen 5)

as long as each client doesn't have EXACTLY the same numbers for each thing then it's a different WU and nothing to worry about

This is bad isn't it?

I basically deleted everything in the folders apart from the program and the short cut then I re ran them then this happened :/

Obviously I lost my Dbl Gromacs in the process :(

ahhh righty - so all the problems so far are related :o

well sounds like you've sorted all the problems and you now just need some new work for one client

stop the client with Mach ID 2 (seems that one is actually in C:\FAH) and delete the queue.dat file and the "work" folder for that client - then restart the client and it should download a differnt WU

don't try it for the Mach ID 1 client (in C:\FAH2 in your case) as it may just download the same work again as the server keeps a record of what's been sent where and will try to send the same again

hopefully that'll be the end of your problems :)

edit: shame about your lost progress - I've had the same happen when I tried to move part-completed WUs between different machines, possibly something to do with that damned lockfile :o
you can backup you current progress by copying the whole folding directory before you try anything clever - then if the worst comes to the worst you can just rename the copy to replace the original and hopefully start where you left off

Right they both have work now :D

One is clocking up reponce in EMIII (but stopped at 100% again) and the other one isn't but I'll do as you said and leave it to settle for a while, its a bloody big molecule so maybe it just takes longer plus that core is probably runing the OS as well? so this surfing won't be doing it much good :D

huzzah!!!

let this be a lesson to anyone else who sets up a second client - get it right first time, it's a lot less hassle :p :D

I followed Billy's dual core guide I found via the Fah Wiki :D Got it sorted first time! Do I win something?
