Anyone else who recently purchased a 360 wish they had bought a PS3?

Have been catching myself looking at prices on Blu-ray players, and thinking "might as well buy a PS3". But I just bought a flippin 360, and just can't justify having two consoles...

The Blu-ray capabilities of the PS3 did not phase me in the least, because I was not interested in HD til the format war was won. Just wasn't expecting it to end so soon.

Sigh.

I don't see why anybody would be bothered, they've already come out and said they'll do a Blu Ray add-on.

I dont think they ever said they would make one, but that they where considering it and said its possible to do. Dont know if they will do it though, if they did, Sony would have a bit of an uproar.

Michael Ephraim, the boss of Sony Computer Entertainment Austrailia, said that "We would welcome Microsoft to the Blu-ray stable. In fact it is quite logical for them as the PS3 has been very succesful in driving consumers to Blu-ray.

It'd be foolish not to, unless they pour money into their digital distribution, which would alienate a fair few users living in countries where internet connections are heavily capped, not to mention really slow.

With the great 360 catalogue of games hell no. I wish I got one sooner. It will keep me well busy until the ps3 big hitters and home is out. ATM am using my ps3 as media extender and DVD player and it does the job great. Just wish my 360 was quiet :(

Who cares about Hi Def moives. I have over 500 dvds and I am not going to start buying them on Hi Def now over even in the future.

ive never ever seen the fascination with having a movie thats a bit clearer than it was before.....

a 'format war' allows people who are not important attempt to 'sound important'

The difference in quality between SD-DVD and a good BD film played on a decent HDTV is a lot more than just being a bit clearer. I'm not a huge DVD collector or film enthusiast but I will always try and get HD if I can as the difference really is clear imo.

Are those who are genuinely miffed gonna come out and admit it ? - I dont think so. I'm not saying this in fanboy kind of way or getting at 360 owners at all - I just think it is human nature to try and not lose face.

I bought my PS3 mainly on the back of blu-ray & HD to feed my new HDTV. So basically I built a new front room 5.1 entertainment system around the PS3. It has since caused me to abandon PC gaming and as a result I now regularly play console games for the first time in my life.

Now, there MUST be 360 owners who had done a similar thing to me and who had also invested in HDDVD hardware that are now feeling just a little bit of regret - but asking them to admit it here is another matter entirely.
