Will Gill said:believe its after they have NIP'd you, dont quote me but I'm pretty sure thats how its works - gives them ages to make up some crap and make sure you cant remember a thing about the incident![]()
Dashik said:Well those crimes get invesetigated as well. Maybe the fact that on average a road traffic accident resulting in a death costs around £1.4 milion and like it or not, speed IS a factor in the outcome of the accident and it's also a crime.

with it now being nearly 4 im wondering whats going on. Other people on here have got summonced in weeks rather than months
that combined with the fact im doubtfull he got a read at all (his windows were shut, and he apparently managed to get me travelling past lamp posts at 100mph) so im now wondering if they are in fact going to prosecute.
Have you ever been pulled will ? i only one got one tiny slip of white paper, post it note size. Other people on here have got much more substantial paperwork.
Will Gill said:when I got properly pulled, they take your license away and give you a yellow substitute, that was back in the dark ages though so not sure what the current policy is![]()

Unless of course I genuinely wasn't speeding.
markyp23 said:So are you saying that if the speed limit was abolished on the motorways/dual carriageways that you would abide by speed limits elsewhere?
Abolishing the speed limit on dual carriageways would be criminal and you would see death rates rocket.
Dolph said:Well, except of course you wouldn't... The vast majority of drivers drive to the conditions even now (myself included), the abolishment of the speed limit wouldn't mean I would feel the need to drive faster all the time, simply that when it was safe to do so, I could legally do so.
markyp23 said:No I stand by my comments on dual carriageways.
Motorways are probably OK, but dual carriageways are too dangerous for it.
EDIT: What makes you think that drivers are responsible? Give any newly-passed young man the opportunity to go fast and something tells me he'll take it. I don't quite fancy the thought of OAPs driving 100mph+

all it would stop would be this relentless campain of hate towards motorists.
its been proven this campain does nothing but line the coffers of plod. Case in point using my local safety camera partnerships own data
http://www.safetycameraswestyorkshire.co.uk/fixed-location-stats.htm?camera=51
Safety Camera on Denby Dale Road went live in feb 2003. In 2001, there was nobody killed or seriously injured, in 2002 there was 1 person, in 2003 there were none, same again in 2004, but in 2005 somebody was killed or seriously injured despite the cameras being there.
in 2003, there was 4 collisions involving people, in 2004 that number rose up to 7.
The problems that got this camera installed, where the 7 people that were killed or seriously injured in one year in 2000. But the year after that, before the camera was introduced the figure went back to zero that year of their own accord.
These cameras have no effect whatsoever on accident rates, and are there purely to line plods pockets.
