I like Within Temptation but their new stuff isn't as good as their old stuff I reckon. Some other things below. Nightwish probably stand out as the best of the symphonic bands to me still, they have such a range of music, even if Tarja is no longer with them.

I think Lacuna Coil have gotten better with each album.
