Been listening to an album of their's at work... not sure the name - it has an Elvis track at the end. The album's rather good!

Probably "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" although there are some tracks that turn up on more than one album.

I've just been listening to The White Stripes - Elephant. Oh my god that is an attrocious album. How in the hell anyone likes it is beyond me.

Maybe I missed something.. let me see, it had a boring drummer who rarely seemed to do anything beyond the standard rep of rhythms, a singer/guitarist trying to sing songs that for the most part didn't suit his voice, he'd have done better with music a la Jeff Buckley I reckon. The guitar work was good, but the overall sound was thin, the guitar rarely changed tone form start to finish, merely switched distortion on and off. The lack of a bass guitarist in the mix didn't help with the bredth of sound either. The bits where Jack did play a lower instrument (can't remember off hand whether it was piano or guitar) it was a huge improvement. The songs had no cohesian together, it was an entirely eclectic mix of music, and the one cover they did 'I don't know what to do with myself' resulted in me skipping track after about a minute of them butchering it.
