Yep fantastic band, I only discovered them a year ago but I've been hooked ever since. The change in sound since Mandylion is amazing and I've yet to hear any album of theirs that has failed to impress, they all offer something unique. Truly one of the greatest bands around today.

For me their lowest point was If Then Else, but that was only rushed out because they were fulfilling their contract on Century Media. It all got better after that. Have you heard Sleepy Buildings? It's one of the best live albums around.

Funnily enough, If_Then_Else was the very first The Gathering album I tried out, but How To Measure A Planet? and Sleepy Buildings which I aquired next really did it for me. Back then I was pretty new to the metal genre (good metal that is) so to find a band like this was amazing as I'm a fan of electronica bands such as Portishead, Massive Attack, Goldfrapp etc.
