indeed, they turn in a bloody pulp according to one of the links posted earlier in the thread. not nice. i think i'd rather die from the blast of gamma radiation and vaporized rather than die from the radiation sickness. reminds me of that film where these guys are all on a nuclear sub and something goes wrong with the reactor, one of the guys volunteers to go and fix it with no protective gear on.

i wonder if i'd be safe in guernsey. we would be a pretty good strategic point (if the russians/whoever wanted to build a secret missile base) i dont think our airport would be big enough to house the large bombers etc.

I watched Threads the other week for the first time in years. Damn, that film hasn't got any less disturbing all these years on. Not only does it graphically show the immediate effects of a nuclear attack on the UK, but it also shows how the country and it's remaining people would be screwed generations later.

Not a nice film, but it's a film I think everybody needs to see at least once.
