Nvidia 1080 upgrade path?

I have a Ryzen 1700, if i upgrade that to a 5600 cpu, what is a resonable gaming graphics card to pair with it from the second hand market?

Assuming you have £300.00 second hand I’d be looking at a 7800 Xt

Depends a bit on your requirement and budget - anything up to around 4070 performance would pair up fine with a 5600.

Personally I’d go 7800 Xt or if you’re very lucky a 4070 Ti though might be a bit above the £400

While AMD has backported some support I'd be looking towards the newer generation cards (both AMD and nVidia) where possible - as increasingly games are relying on upscaling and frame generation technologies which are better supported on newer generations and/or it can help older or less than bleeding edge setups to stay relevant longer.

I’ve just looked at the 9060 Xt but imo it is not worth £430+ when you can get a second hand 7800 Xt for around the £340 mark which now also offers FSR4 and it offers 20-30% more performance

Yeah, I wouldn't pay that for one either. 9060 XT 16GB was more like £330 on release.

If I was paying ~£500, I'd get a 9070, which is 50% faster than the 9060 XT 16GB. Predictably though, the 9070 GRE is taking the old £500 price point and the non-XT going up another £50-£100
