I was wondering whats better in your opinion and why?

I think Eyefinity is great but 3D is the winner for me as it brings gaming to a whole new level and hopefully technology will improve and we wont have to wear stupid glasses.

3D definitely

with eyefinity you're paying triple the money for only a small difference plus the bezels are annoying

Both are nothing more than a gimmick, eyefinity feels like the more useful gimmick. in my opinion anyway.

This is one awesome gimmick. Anyone remember swordfish? :D

Problem with that one though is it's a £5-10k gimmick not including the required PC :D

Adding to that, a quote from the article the picture is from:

"This monster of a display setup is made possible by 9X Media’s multi-display setups. Sure, it’s likely to topple over and pin me down, leaving me to slowly starve to death in my own home, my mobile phone just out of reach up on my desk and no one coming to visit me or check on me because I’ve alienated all of my friends and family with my constant bragging and boasting about my gigantic monitor setup, but the fragging I’ll do before that happens will make it all worth it."

So a 5-10K gimmick that might kill you! Or a 3D display which might make your head explode?

or has any one thought they could just save the money ? lol :D pc enthusiast are the kings of spontainiuse purchase's its a mental illness i swear oh btw iam talking on be-half of a freind

Depends on what you use your PC for...

If watching movies and playing the odd game is your thing, then go for 3D.

If on the other hand you are into sim racing/flying the extra field of view the 3 screens give you is invaluable imho.

Of course if you have the money, buy 2 GTX 480s and have both. ;)

I thought that until I played Bad Company 2 in 3d........

Makes it a different game trust me.....

I struggle to play it in 2d now......

Don't get me started on Left 4 Dead 2, its like you are there.

i will not even glance at 3d until they can do it without the glasses.

and as awesome as that 15 monitor setup looks, i somehow doubt even 4 gtx480s would have enough grunt to run something at what must be somewhere in the region of 30MP :/

Well, when they make decent 3D monitors then I might consider buying one. ATI Eyefinity looks very good at the moment but we need better graphic cards to run it imho.

I wouldn't use 15 monitors but I recently thought of having 4x 50" plasma, with some good fishing it could be had already for less than 2 grand and will also be easy to mount on the wall ; ).

The 3D vision just gives me headaches, I dont really know why

It made me feel sick for the first 30mins to an hours or so, but after that it becomes more normal.

I couldn't really turn the depth up at first, as I struggled to focus but now I've got it maxxed out and the 3d effect is really striking.

Not too keen on either: the 3d to me looks no different than 2d (my eyes obviously don't fall for whatever trick the 3d glasses are trying to play on them) and the eyefinity bezels would annoy me because I watch a lot of movies, so a single large screen is better for me.

iv tried both to a budget standard. I ran eye infinity on 3 different sized monitors (same res) i quite enjoyed it because i had more desktop space and a longer taskbar. Games looked rubbish on a 19" 17" and 15" in eye infinity mode...But i do see advantages.

As for 3d vision, i thought it was a gimmick till i tried it 2 years ago and now i have my own 3d monitor and kit. Im enjoying this more than eye infinity. Yes its stressing out my 9800gt to the max but its giving me smooth fps in the games i enjoy most. Iv not tried 3d vision surround but when i get another £500 in my pocket ill buy 2 more monitors and a spare pair of glasses. Or if i had a spare £9000 i could by 3 3dvision ready projector. Its bad that there only 1024x720 but 3 of them will be pure mental ged.
