NVIDIA 4000 Series

Hi there

OcUK is live, be quick, we have the most on Gainward MSRP SKU:

Overpriced HOT garbage, the original 4080 was £400 overpriced and should have been no more than £800.

We are now coming way too close for comfort to the release of the 50XX series, meaning we need even better value.

This card needed to be below where the original 4080 should have been, since there is no extra performance at all basically the same card, "less overpriced".

Tell you what, when the dust on these sitting on shelves gets too thick, I'll buy one for £599, but be quick! once we are into April, I'll just wait for nextgen...

Oh and lastly, I checked your store, almost all, even cheapest ones are basically £1000....Bwahahahahahaah GTFO here Nvidia, you're DRUNK!

majority of stock is over £1k. Might as well bought it on day 1 2023
Waiting for nextgen, no way these super cards offer enough value this late in the game....

The "BEST" choice by far is the 4070 SUPER at around £600, but the issue with that is, at this point in time, I know 100% when I see what £800 gets me performance wise nextgen, I will have buyers remorse so bad....

I am afraid after holding out for years, holding onto an old GPU, the best option is to buy used, or buy new day one of a new generation, probably flagship card, at least then you get the best for a decent time and can safely hold onto the card for 4-5 years and try get the best value out of it for as long as possible....

This "hobby" has just become a rich mans game, AMD and Nvidia trying to turn the GPU market into the luxury car/watch market....

Funny that, I don't see the TV, toaster, kettle, fridge or washing machine manufactures pulling that ****....

If more people had the self control to just NOT BUY from these companies, and sit on their GPU for 3 years, we would all be enjoying flagship cards for $600-$700 again....

But nope....

We choose where we spend our money, everyone's circumstances are different I don't have a family or kids to look after so it goes into tech/gaming and other stuff that's not a priority for others.

Should that change, I'd honestly just be using Geforce now... and for games not supported I'd have a powerful steamdeck like device.

Best thing to do for people happy to wait is the 2nd hand market, I see steal after steal across discord and various forums from people who regret their purchases a few months in.

So I've got a bit of situation. I've just bought a 5800x3D to upgrade from my 5600x but I've seen to get the most out of it I need to upgrade my 3070. I kind of want to stay with NVidia as the games I play like Tarkov and Dayz seem to have better performances than AMD. The 4080 is obviously a rip off but anything below that I don't see as a big enough upgrade to take. I play at 1440p by the way. Any advice?
