NVIDIA 4000 Series

Agree, I absolutely loved 3d, on oled it was fantastic.

Although still not a great/valid comparison as difference is "everyone" and all hardware since turing is backing/supporting RT. 3d didn't have the same support sadly :( To achieve next gen visuals as shown by the RT teh demos, you simply can't achieve that with rasterization methods and if you could, the hours/effort required just won't be worth it when there is a solution out there that can achieve it far quicker. Been replaying RDR 2 again recently and it looks stunning the lighting, shadows etc. but it took years for R* to get to that and if you know what to look out for in terms of rasterization issues, the game is plagued by them i.e. reflections distorting/cutting off (particularly in the swamp area), lighting bleeding through areas/walls.

Yup give me 3d vision over raytracing any time of the week. Such a shame :D
I think my point with the 3d vision part was that there can be really good tech advances that never catch on. The fact RT cores are being sold as part of the gpu package, it is kind of forcing people to take it up when looking for the fastest traditional gpus. This will make it quicker for adoption. Better for me :D But i totally get why others wouldn't be so happy.
For myself, i am excited about the raytracing. However, it really has been a small percentage of my gaming time. I game a lot, and the RT titles i have been interested in have been one playthrough experiences (although CP2077 was 100hrs that doesnt touch the side to my overall gaming time). Over the last year or two maybe 5-10% of my gaming. I don't mind, but i totally get why that isnt something to get excited about for others just yet.

On the FE cards* No word on AIB's

I know what they say about assumptions but you'd presume this would be the case for AIB cards as well.

How many people out there would just buy an FE rather than front the cash for an AIB card and a PSU because they skimped out on the power management with transient spikes...

I'm fairly certain cards like the ROG Strix OC will be pushing 600 watts on the Performance vBIOS so for everyone's sake I hope they've mitigated the spikes like nVidia have with the FE - during an MSI stream they were tight lipped about the wattage on their Performance vBIOS (citing an NDA/embargo as the reason, curiously).

I have 3d vision on my samsung s27, used it once I think. lol

It's shilling time.

This tells me all I need to know about DLSS3...

Basically we will artificially neuter DLSS 2 performance and pretend DLSS 3 is amazing as we did with DLSS 2 before..

Just look at the numbers on that and then look at numbers from games before they introduced DLSS 3. Also not liking the fact of the fake frames rubbish and the clear side effect is Soap Opera Effect but we will slow videos down by half frame rates to show you how amazing it looks at half speed because of youtubes 60fps limits... Blaa blaa really... OMG do they really think we are that stupid especially people my age and have been computer enthusiasts longer than Alex has been alive.. Not falling for this one Nvidia sorry, fake frames = fail to me. We did all this with TVs and any TV enthusiast knows to turn them features off, but now Nvidia wants to turn them back on your TV if you game on TV and worse add that horrible effect to monitors now.

that what i actually do.. i keep a frame rate cap and low latency mode on ultra for best feedback on input, so if you could hit the frame cap via just in time rendering and if it saves power too then that is exactly what i would recommend, though i would be interested in knowing if this would actually work with dlss 3

There's a reason the studios love it.
They push it on us for the increased quality of lighting but the real motivator is they can hire less devs and as such spend less money on staff.

What i don't get is how is DLSS 2 in Performance mode only 17% faster than native?! That would be more like using Quality settings?

So i can see what you mean by atificially neutering the DLSS 2 performance
