NVIDIA 4000 Series

According to Corsair manual RM850x should come with 3 PCIe cables each splitting into 2 connectors.

Exactly, but the actually box says it only comes with 2 which is totally pointless. It comes with 3 x 8-pin CPU connectors, like why? lol

So yea it's now listed on MM for sale and I have this guy on the way by 10PM - Gigabyte P1000GM, 1000W, 80 Plus Gold Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply

From what I remember (can’t be bothered opening the case) one of the three is built into another cable.?

Just checked the website again and it does indeed come with 2 in the 2021 version, 3 in the previous older version. Strange choice.

4090FE safely arrived. Certainly is a bit of a chungus innit!

Sadly I’m busy with work so probably won’t get a chance to play until Sunday but if it’s half as fast as it is hefty I’m in for a treat.

The PSU only has 3x spare ports for PCIe connectors, correct. So one is using the split connector.

I'm going to run it at 75% Power limit anyway so I don't see a massive problem.

Haven't had a chance to test thermals yet.

4080 board is actually quite small: it goes from the LHS to the power connector.
The rest of it is "all about cooling".

It runs substantially cooler and a bit faster than the AMD RX 7900 it replaced.

What's the latest on how many individual PCI-E cables you actually should use for the 4090 FE? I've heard the card pulls up to 450w despite the connector supporting 600?

My RM850i only has three connections.

Four will be the number of PCI-E cables that thou shalt use to power a 4090 FE, lest a power shortage cause wailing and gnashing of teeth.

4080 doth not require so much power, and only requireth three.

Just read on the overclockers site 850 watt for this card not much left out of a 1200 watt..
