NVIDIA 4000 Series

it is selling actually very well, but browsing competitors it seems listed at £1049 elsewhere so probably explains why were doing so many of them......
Sad times if its true, seems people have been conditioned to take these prices as the norm then. I saw someone post on facebook about how these cards were cheap in comparison to the scalping era not that long ago, saying these prices are refreshing and much better... perfectly conditioned by circumstances over the past 2 years. It's almost like people forgot how much last gen should have cost and it was still possible to get them at those cheaper prices i.e. close to 700 or even 650 for the 3080 FE.

what meany very well ? when 7900xtx comes out in few minutes all sold out, now i see the cheap 4070ti cards still in stock

NVIDIA has far healthier stocks of 4070Ti compared to AMD 7900 series, so in theory 4070Ti should be possible to keep in stock at all times or only be out of stock for brief periods unless the sales become totally bonkers insane.

It's really odd. If you were into pcs you would research about the purchase, unless of course the money isn't a concern for you, but then you would go for a more expensive model. Who exactly are buying these? I don't feel it would be a media machine card.

It probably also helps that @LtMatt isn't buying up all these cards like the 7900s.
You might have stock issues otherwise!

Pull the other one, its possible to keep in stock because nobody wants an over priced turd

I like to think that the boom in retail point of sale finance over the last couple of years has also probably contributed to this issue.

People aren't really seeing £1000. They're seeing 4 x £250 monthly interest free payments or spread out via 12 months via a credit agreement. They can't afford to pay it in one hit but is affordable if spread out.

Retailers who also offer Klarna like payment options have to pay the finance company a percentage commission of the total finance value. So I suspect some retailers are adding a bit more fat on top to cover their margins.

Car manufacturers have been doing a similar thing. I mean, £19k for an entry level Ford Fiesta?!?! It's all about the monthly repayments and can I afford it.

Anyway, I sound old and I digress....

This is also 100% true, sadly.

Yup. It's why I never buy anything on a credit agreement. (Mortgage aside)

I don't buy anything unless I have the actual money saved. You tend to consider a purchase more thoroughly that way. It's much harder to part with the money if it's all going out in one lump sum from your own savings pot.

Will be interesting to see if 3080 ti prices crash. They could become very affordable used if they approach £550-£600. Currently £700+.

Nothing wrong with interest free credit.
If you got the money to pay in full you can still get in on credit and put the money into saving account which will earn you some interest while you pay off the card.

AMD support in US continues to decline replacement on RMA and is issuing refunds. The 7900 series has stock issues

Not sure about UK but if you RMA a 7900xtx in the US for overheating now, all you'll be getting is a refund so you can go an Nvidia GPU
