I didn't need to upgrade last year though? And the same price as the 4080 super 1 year ago. If you wanted this level of performance for this price you could have had it all last year.

Yea no.
The 9070 won't be in the same ball park as the 5090.
Heck it will barely beat my 3090 if reports are true about it

For £1000? You think they should sell a 24gb GPU that's faster than a 4090 for £1000? Why do all the angry 40 series owners keep conveniently forgetting that important detail? It's £200 cheaper than a 4080 was 2 years ago.
For the 5080 to have 24gb and faster than a 4090 there's no way it would be £1000. That card doesn't exist. A label is just a label. It's still a decent upgrade for 30 series owners, doesn't matter what they call it.
There were a few, not many, but a few deals kicking around in November. Did you need to upgrade in November? Likely could have saved yourself at least £100 maybe more looking at some of the aib models.I didn't need to upgrade last year though?
Asus 5080 cards aren’t as bad as I expected.Prices are up on the spicy food place, some more expensive than expected while others less than expected
Even as a 4090 owner, yes I think the 5080 should be better than a 4090 because that’s progress and not stagnation. For £1000? £1200 for a 5070 is INSANE. Even accounting for the 'ASUS' tax xDAsus 5080 cards aren’t as bad as I expected.

My point is simply that any way you look at it the 5080 is a disappointing release. And nvidia should be called out for it, hopefully they will get the message.
5080 Astral OC cheaper than the 5080 Astral non-OC ??Prices are up on the spicy food place, some more expensive than expected while others less than expected

Can't see these selling well. First batches will fly off the shelf. But reckon availability will be plenty a few months in.Prices are up on the spicy food place, some more expensive than expected while others less than expected
Agreed, the msi cards are much more expensive than I had expectedCan't see these selling well. First batches will fly off the shelf. But reckon availability will be plenty a few months in.

I guess you missed the last few hardware launches. Nvidia will announce record demand and how thrilled they are at the success of their new lineup. They won't be readily in stock for months and will just keep selling out. Maybe by late Spring, early Summer the retailers might have caught up on pre-orders and actually have some in stock for anyone to buy. Can't see these selling well.
