NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

I didn't know AMD wasn't bothering to compete in the high end market anymore. I can't spend 3 grand+ on a graphics card. Not necessarily on principle, but it's just... too crazy. People will think there's something wrong with me, like I'm obsessed with video games or something. And honestly? It might be immoral. Like I'd never be able to criticize anything to do with money ever again, or really anyone's decisions in any context. And since nvidia sells terrible line-ups outside of its flagship... IDK. I honestly don't know. Like someone said, unless they tack on 20% to the price, they'd be eating the inflation on a product that has no trouble selling, which makes no sense. 3 grand (cad) is the floor. IDK.
People will think your a god if you have a top tier gpu. Why would they think somethings wrong with you?

That's just not true, unless your talking about ebay scalped prices.

Wow, where are you getting this nonsense from?

You went from the 4090 being out of stock right after release to… I mean the FE and not the “undesirable” ones… to “they were only available on eBay”.

First rule of holes… when you find yourself in one, put down the shovel.

I was trying to find a way around where you went out right lying intentionally. Clearly you don't care about the truth or have memory issues. Enjoy your day.

I don’t mean to be confrontational but have not been lying because you could literally buy a new 4090 (if you were not limiting your options) from stores on release day and any time within months of release. If you can show where I have been lying please do and I will apologise. You have a nice day as well.

Like all GPU releases (apart from during the pandemic) stock levels may be sporadic on certain models until the supply chain stabilises. But if you did a search in the UK you could get a new 4090.

Are you maybe conflating stock shortages with total lack of supply?

Nah, it’s the other way around. It’s peacocking! Look at how successful I am with my 5090 and (laughably non-sensical) shiny watch!

It’s how I’m hoping to lure my wife back from my next door neighbour. I’m not sure it’ll work though. He has a personality :(

who needs a wife when you have a 5090 - jensen, CES 2025

The only cards I remember being hard to get were the 3080 and to a lesser extend the 3090.
The 3090 was ridiculous to get hold of, took me about two months on pre-order to get hold of the Asus 3090 and I ordered pretty quickly.

4090 wasn’t so bad to get but you ended up paying way over the odds for it normally, I ended up paying about £500 over what I should have. I can see the 5090 going the same way.

Yeah I think some people have different ideas of what hard means based on personal preference.

Getting a 3080 or 3090 or the 6800 XT etc was hard because you had to use discord channels to monitor stock drops. I got a 3080 FE after a few months by sheer good timing. That is my definition of hard.

Getting a 4090 a few days or weeks after release using standard google search of online retailers and not being picky about brand, or paying a bit of the usual retailer markups. That would not be hard, just annoying.
