All in for a 5090 but there simply isn’t the info to know which is the best pick for me.

Number 1 priority is for no coil whine / annoying fan noise, so whichever delivers that wins. I hate hate hate hate hate coil whine… but then I’m the sort of sensitive sausage that is very affected and distracted by odd chittering noises - it’s just how my brain is wired.

In hotel rooms, fridges and TVs get unplugged. Yes, really.

What model is everyone actually planning on buying?

This thread is dominated in debate on what is best, what isnt, fake frames blah blah.. but just genuninely curious on what people plan on buying and the variance in models as its mainly dominated with 5090 talk.

It's impossible to know which 5090 to buy, since we don't know how good the FE model is (there is at least a possibility that there's something wrong it) and we don't know anything about all the other cards, including price.

It'll probably be whichever one is in stock, but I do like the look of the TUF and I'm curious about the 5 fan MSI special edition:

is that a MSI Lightning Z, like the last time MSI did that was the 2080ti, was MSI absolute top end card, then you had all the Suprim models after that, I mean we are what, 11 days away from the 50 series launch and there is such strict embargos, no hand on reviews no teardowns no benches, Has Nvidia done this before?

How does one decide what card to buy if he doesn't know anything about the product on release day? there something really fishy going on with this release, because I cant remember if the 20 30 and 40 series had tis much secrecy so close to launch.

Look at those prices! How do European prices normally compare to GBP?

Cheapest 5090 model works out at around £2200 and £1270 for the 5080, laughable pricing if it ends up being the standard.

If i remember correctly the 30 and 40 series both had reviews come out the day before release and the prices are always shown at 2pm on release for AIB's.
If anything there is more out there this time than there has been for the last 2 generations

Is the pound stronger now to the dollar? I remember that been a big factor last time. Estimated prices kept going up and up weekly, as the pound fell. The pound is weakest its been for a year, read it on the BBC yesterday as our borrowing is going up

If the 50 pricing we’ve seen so far ends up being correct then the smart play will probably be to grab a 40 series super card before they all disappear.

I need to get 2 minimum for my setup. So I decided on the astral and aorus master ice both 5090’s. For my back up cards I have the msi lightning/suprim 5090. NGL I am curious about the FE but I am simply not convinced that a 2 slotter can dissipate potentially 575w worth of heat quietly and as cool running as the AIB’s. Loved to be proved wrong.
