Wonder how high the scalpers will take it
Plenty of scalpers have insider contacts in the industry and can get better stock than some shops it seems. :/ Scalping itself is nowadays a multimillion+ GBP industry. A common buyer has no chance against them.

Some of the watt numbers for parts are comedically wrong. That motherboard is never using 70W. Memory ain't using 29W. A HDD is never using 20W.

A 650W PSU will easily be enough.

To give you an idea, I used to run a 5800X3D (142W) and a 7900XTX (355W) absolutely fine on an EVGA 550W PSU.

I even forcibly loaded the CPU and GPU at the same time just to see what the PSU would do as a test for an hour. A 550W PSU was unsurprisingly able to handle the load it was rated for.

I'd recommend in reality a bit more overhead, but it just goes to show how unrealistic people have become because in the past PSU manufacturers would lie about their wattage (when looking at 12v only).
Good to know, thanks

Looks like with no stock I won't be getting anything so don't need to worry anymore

on raw rasterization i said 4090 all day, but from a performance stand point for games going forward the 5080 will be the better performing card when making use of all the features available to it, i do agree that if you are running these new dlsss features without a good base fps to begin with you will be in for a bad time, but realistically a 5080 will still be able to achieve a good base fps in most titles out there now today, only game that will bring the fps down off top of my head would be cyberpunk for example and even at that the 4090 only manages 20ish fps with all the bells and whistles on running on raw rasterization

Yep. Here is all I see from most 4090 users posts:

Nah, with how the stock is going to be, one could likely sell 4090 for over 2k and sit for a while on something cheap, then get 5090 after dust settles, likely adding little to none to it. :) Ergo, it's an opportunity for free upgrade and not a time for sadness. That said, even if I could sell 4090 for even £3k+ now, I still wouldn't buy 5090 - too much power, too much heat, I can't stand my 4090 in the Summer as is already, playing usually with 50% power limits to survive. :P

So I say just get a 5090 and the hell with expense!
Within context that post is sound, the context now is that the 4090 still exists, the 5090 is out soon at a minimum of £2000. is is a wise choice for someone who already had a 4090n from before, which has lost little to no money today?

Probably not :p

Will the 5090 go the same direction for used values in 2 years too? Probably not either. As someone else said, the 4090n seems to be the new 1080 Ti.
