I just think it's funny how in this thread, it's perfectly acceptable for people to be pre ordering 5090s for £2500+, yet it's the people buying 5080's that are apparently driving the cost of GPUs up for everyone.

The hypocrisy in this thread is depressing.

Yeah, I know. But some people need to be reminded their choice was “ill conceived”. The fact they don't like to be reminded is basically admitting they know they made a mistake.

I tried both bios settings and the fan stop worked but as soon as played games it came on at 30%. It occurred from day one and I never overclocked the card. RMA’ing would be the answer but didn’t want to wait from October 2022 until 2023 for stock of a new card.

I’m not saying Zotac cards are bad just in my experience I would never buy one again as the quality for a nearly 2 grand card just wasn’t there. Just search Reddit or YouTube it’s a known issue with the top model 4090 AIRO extreme maybe it was a certain batch but it’s enough to put me off wouldn’t touch them again.

Here’s a trinity with a similar issue to my AIRO. Zero coil whine just what can be described as a horrible mechanical noise and the zero stop only makes worse with them spinning on and off all the while.

Where do you get this stuff? I have seen plenty of posts calling out how this behaviour is ludicrous. Not just the 5090 but the 5080 pricing. Both are being called out for sending the message to Nvidia and retailers “these are acceptable prices”.

Probably luck of the draw, same as anything I guess cars, homes, TVs etc. Most people are fine but there will still be issues of bad quality or faults, which in this case Zotac says is normal functionality. Great £1949 for a GPU which sounds like a cement mixer!

However it’s enough to put me and a bunch of unfortunate people who trusted the brand for their 4090 purchases. It’s not an issue though as it’s just another AIB to avoid with PALIT too as their fans were good on the 3080 but my god did someone say coil whine? PALIT and Zotac don’t care as they’ve made their money now and plenty of people will still buy them look at Land Rover lol!
