NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

it's odd that there's a 5070ti msrp embargo date without an FE being made, which makes me wonder will there will be an aib model selling for msrp??
There appears to be one model from several AIB's at MSRP for the 5080, what has typically happened with these is that a few are available on launch day but once they run out they basically never get restocked and they just keep producing the "gamer" and "OC" variants. I would imagine the same happens with the 5070ti.

News is coming out that Jensen has had to sell his CES 9k leather jacket, luckily it's an NVIDIA gaming OC jacket so he sold it for the same price. lucky chap!

Which AIB at MSRP version do you guys usually like? I'm ruling out flagship stuff like Aorus Master/Suprim/Astral at this price point, but since there is so many we have not heard of at all, I really don't know what to go for if I get the opportunity (still expecting majority of available stock to be flagship versions just because they earn the most on that).

I saw a youtube short that a pc builder was getting quoted $3k a pop for a 5090 if ordered in bulk. This launch is gonna be absolutely crazy and I'm all for seeing the strugglers and haters afterwards lol

So if I'm reading that correctly $3k was a deal price, on a bulk buy, so individual card prices are going too be higher then $3K?

Yup that's what I assume, an opportunistic vendor. If they're selling 100 units and at 3k a pop, that's an extra $100,000 in revenue so not surprising that's the case.

I don't understand why most cards have 3 displayports and 1 hdmi. more HDMI ports is much more beneficial for me.
More and more people are using high end TV's as monitors nowdays.

A single HDMI port should be fine for plugging into the TV, no? Unless there are folks running multiple TVs somehow (where would we even get the space for that in these tiny British buildings?). Only TVs lack DisplayPort, so HDMI should only really be used for those, with few exceptions.
Still, there will be cards available with more than 1 HDMI port, but for folks using monitors there shouldn't be many reasons to use something other than DisplayPort.

Though most TVs max out at 120Hz... a framegen 5090 at 200+ fps can't stretch its legs as much on a 120Hz TV.
Unless folks are planning to play games like CP2077, Indiana Jones and Wukong at max ray-tracing 4k without DLSS

Also no clue about murmurs of some competitor having lots of stock, doing a launch event. Must be a myth, the 2 5090s available at launch in the UK are in the OCUK warehouse right now :D

Seeing as I'm buying a full system and not just a gpu I've noticed some early pre build 5090 prices quoting 4.5k that's with a 9950x3d. PRebuilds lack the wanted storage options and specific memory wanted but if it's felt lacking it's easy enough to upgrade it.

I'll miss the fun of building my own and the feeling of it being MY system but I'll get the proper cable management where as I just jam it in and close the panel.

I can't wait to try and buy a 5080 and then just sit staring at the screen when I realise everything reasonable is sold out and it's either pay for an overpriced AIB or get nothing. So excited.
