NVIDIA 680 Price Cut

Glad I paid an average of £290 for my cards 3 months after launch :D

Lots who didn't though. £450+ being paid at launch and lucky to see half price selling them on. All good though and anyone who buys on launch day should be aware of that.

I got out at a good time. Sell high; buy low. Only lost 8% performance. Decent compromise for me as it was that or have £1500 in GPUs and monitors sitting on my desk doing a lot of nothing until the summer :D.

I think I've only played Far Cry 3 and Hitman since I sold up!

You have done better than me in gaming. Played FC3 and a bit of Civ5 :(

You did well and I was very tempted to join you. Glad I didn't because I love 3D and I would have lost that with my monitors. Games play very well as well and just need a little tweaking to get optimum frame rates.

The wise choice with the 12.11 was the 7950's and you made a good call.

I was told not to buy my msi 660ti pe launch day but I did anyway and 6 months later it's still the same price.
Release day: £250 incluing borderlands 2
january: £240 no game

Is that the 7970's? by what genius did you achieve that? tell me your secretes!

First one I got from MM for £300 I think and that was 1&half months after release, about 3 weeks later I picked one up with a water block on it from MM, again cheap and the last one I got 4weeks after that for £270 offer fleabay.

basically I got lucky :D

the GTX 680`s need to be around the £300 to £320 mark for basic cards. and don`t forget the Nvidia refresh is due soon.

Yes

If I remember right your cards are also very good clockers.:D

To be fair, I cba with my cards anymore. I do like to play games on maximum graphics though, with 120Hz, with the closest number of fps in relation the refresh rate, but I think it's OTT. I've been using one card for a while, and haven't felt the need to use the second at the moment. Really though, it feels like it's just there in case there is a game that's more demanding that I want to play with the graphics turned up. Unfortunately PC Gaming in this regard, is disappointing at the moment.:(

no price drops yet on the 2gb gtx 680 on overclockers, think i'll wait untill they drop £40 odd then buy one, so get your finger out and drop em ;)

Will the 770 be faster than the 680?

Well going by the last time we had a refresh on the same node the 570 came in at more or less the same speed as the 480, but this time i think the 670 is closer to the 680, so we will have to wait and see.

I just hope Nvidia don't cripple the memory with a 256bit bus width on the next series. Though I will be waiting for the Nvidia 8 series / AMD 9 series before I upgrade!
