NVIDIA 780 Ti Announced (18/10/13)

780Ti will fill the gap and hit the 290X

What that should tell you and those of us that pre-ordered a 290X is exactly where the performance of a 290X is coming. Slightly higher than a 780 but slightly less than a Titan.

Nvidia told us what AMD hasn't yet.

It should definitely end up being faster then the Titan if I heard Mr CEO correctly. He did say that it will be their fastest GPU their built/something along the lines of that, so there's no reason not to rule out the possibility of a Titan killer.

An 780 with a small overclock is a titan killer, I still think the 780 ti will just be a titan but with higher clocks.

I know one thing Nvidia have it over AMD in the features that gamers want department, they must come in at a lower price point than Nvidia.

290x at £400 sounds about right.

Its certainly an exciting time to be thinking about upgrading to a top end gpu thats for sure!

Can't wait to see pricing and performance of both this 780ti and the 290x

Certainly looks like nvidia have thrown a spanner into the works thats for sure! It's great for us that both companies are having to duke it out :)

Since there are no specs yet this could just as well be an OCed 780 with nothing really going for it otherwise. Hope this is not the case cause what would be the point? people already OC their 780 as we did with the 7970 before the ghz edition landed.

IIRC ti models have always had more cuda cores than the original model?

I predict a full 2880 Cores and only 3GB, with some custom 6GB to come later. Some of the compute features that Titan has missing on the 780ti, this way Nvidia would not step on Titan's toes, and can distance itself from the stack. Titan is more of an anomaly than part of the 7XX line of GPU's.

So with that in mind it's likely that the 780ti is much faster in games than Titan. A true new gaming flagship.

290 V 780
290X V 780ti

It's a good time to be into gaming lol.

The 384bit but would not allow that - it has to be divisible by 3 - so 4.5 could happen.

Good call.

I don't see it coming with the full fat 6gb and outright replacing the titan, which is why my money is on gk110 with the same amount of smx modules as the titan with less vram but higher clocks.

Though both sides are putting far far too much effort into 28nm, give us 20nm already!!!!

Edit: gsync sounds interesting, is it going to be restricted to the ti only?

We've all seen what titans with high clocks are capable of :)

Even though the gains over my 780 are going to be minimal I want one :D

My thoughts exactly...

If the all new 780 Turbo Injection :D is priced sensible and pips the Titan in performance, I could very well be tempted to part company with the 780 myself.

Nope it is restricted to any Kepler cards and above for G-Sync
