Nvidia 8-series Compatible Cases Thread

Just popped in to say that an 8800 GTX definately fits in the thermaltake shark case with about a quarter of an inch to spare and it looks da buisness in the case :D

I have found the OcUK's Nvidia 8800 GTX series Compatible Cases - By Tosk over the net, and I have noticed that the case..
Code:
SilverStone 'SUGO' Evolution SG01 || SilverStone || 24.6cm || Removing the hd cage & using only 1 hd in the rom bay
gives you [B]35.6cm[/B] space || GTS-[B]GTX[/B]
..is signed not capable to handle the new 8800GTX graphic cards without removing the hdd cage.

This is not quite good because with a little modding the case can well contain the 8800GTX.
Look how: SFF SUGO 'GTX' Hdd Cage MoD
;)

P.S.: the SilverStone links does not work because they are rebuilding their web site.

yes PIRATA! i guess it depends on where the pci-e card slots sitting as well

like on my mother board my pci-e is in the 3rd slot from the left so i could fit it with out moding the cage at all :)
as long as i remove the hdd cage and only use 1 hdd

or mod the cage like you have done. nice done btw

i was thinking of making a new hdd cage for mine. do you think you could fit 3 hdds into the space?

and to cool the cage i would make a long supporting bar in the left side and mount in a 120mm fav on the inside. some think like this i was thinking.

only one problem..

You will have to remove the Tool Free device on the PCI slots because the 8800gtx is dual slot, there a few bits in the way.. Easy enough to remove though.

:)

noticed your site is still showing the GTX might not fit the Silverstone TJ09 and wanted to say that it does fit with acres of space to spare

Interesting...
You can even screw the 120mm fan on the case cover.
About putting 3 hdd under the 5,25” cage, they could might fit under there, but I think they would have not enough space between them for air flow.

would be nice to know if it fits in an Antec Sonata (either I or II as they're the same size)

i got a 8800 gts in my sonata II no probs... loads of space for it... SLi may be a seperate issue though.

DOESN'T fit in the thermaltake swing, about 6mm too big im afraid :( fit's easily if the HDD cage is removed though :)

It really looks the part for a mega computer :P
Thermaltakes are really nice (i have the Tsunami dream atm) but this one looks the biz!!

According to a review someone has written it will :)

As for the Tsunami Dream.. The 8800gtx will fit but not without some minor mods and doing away with the drive cady.. It will also restrict the air flow through from the front intake fan. I sold my Dream and bought the Kandalf.. big but well happy..

Kandalf (full tower) right / Tsunami Dream left ;)
