Nvidia 9600 GSO

this takes the **** for sure... honestly...

i thought the crockpot (8800GS/9600GSO) was a limited edition card, in a manner similar to the 2900 PRO... 700,000 seems like a high number.

nVidia really have no ethics or morals i think... sacrificing to get this 8800GT was a waste in more ways than one...

ethic? Morals? I think people need to step back, we are talking about a GPU here. They have a crap load of chips they need to get rid of, so they have re-launched em with a new name. This happens all the time, everyone does it... why get so emotional, if you dont like it, dont buy it.

They used to put these older chips onto AGP (like the 7800's 7900's etc) but now they arent producing AGP cards, its better than just throwing them away surely?

running a business like a business, oh the horror

I think it's very bad business and could backfire quite badly depending on who picks up on it. All it needs is the inquirer or some other technology-rag-for-the-masses to make a big deal of it and they'll be looking at a big dint in their credibility.

Why? If the product is priced accordingly to its level of performance, I dont see what the problem is.

Will add almost all company's do it but i still feel for someone who might not have internet or not computer wise or whatever and get taken for a ride and that not against nvidia but some sellers who stretch the truth.

Lol at people bringing ethics and morals into it.

Go look at how these products are made, in some Chinese factory by people who are underpaid and over-worked.

Get over yourselves. It's business, if Nvidia paid more to have these cards made, they'd cost a lot more for us consumers.

That's what I thought. From what I read at the time of the 8800GS's release, it was a small run of cards that was primarily for the OEM market.
