How confusing I always expected Nvidias next gen card to arrive 1 year afterwards but then all the talk of G92 and the fact there wasnt gonna be a next gen card this year.

I just got a GTX again lol if theres any solid confirmation of a 9800 GTX release next month u can sure bet a pallit 8800GTX will be going for £240 on MM lol

These will work on any motherboard with a x16 mechanical PCI-E 1.1 slot on it.

Supposedly so since its pitched at between 8600gts and 8800gts performance. It might even be very close to 8800 GTS performance which is why rumour has it again that will disappear and replaced with one with more shaders.

Doesn't really give you confidence if mistakes can be up there for over a month does it?

I dont see it that way...

Nvidia afirm that next high end gen card will be 1terraflop, also fudzilla, theinq and vrzone are talking about a Gx2 card : http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3445&Itemid=1

and that make perfect sence becuase that will fill up the 1terraflop part, also the codename of the next high end is: D8E so my guess is the card will come out in mid feb. under the 8 series (8950GX2 maybe) and the 9 series will come out in may just 1 year after the high end Ultra right now......

Nvidia confirmed the 9800 will be 1 terraflop if I remember correctly.

Not as such, but they specifically said their next generation GPU would be 1Tflop.

pawned again. Just gone back and read the nvidia stuff and he indeed only say next generation chip.

But that would lead you down the route that it isn't a dual card hybrid jobbie?
