NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

People saying they don't bother with AA at 4K always means they're compromising, have a relatively small monitor or need glasses. I've had the same monitor from 295x2 quadfire, 980TI SLI, Titan XP SLI and 1080ti SLI and can honestly say that regardless of fps upping AA has been responsible for the biggest visual improvement. Yes FPS have improved but visually increasing the quality settings and that only means AA in this context is what has made the difference. Same game, same fps but waaaay prettier. If that hadn't happened I'd have stuck with the first 1080ti after selling the Titans and not bought the second for SLI but I got annoyed I was going backwards in my gaming experience. Its all about what you get used to and or will accept.

Doh yes at low FPs and low settings, again read what I actually typed to the person I was helping.

I had a 780Ti and it was a poor upgrade from a 680 4GB, waste of time/money the Titan X I got next (full fat Kepler) was a much better move for me.

Actually, it was a mixure of medium and high settings. You keep on in ignorance; I'll keep on having fun.

You are the ignorant one, you are moving the goalposts.

You can see my typo (same as yours above before you get smart), I meant to type lower not low but my point still stands it is not the highest settings.

The user I was helping wants 4k at highest settings, I advised lower the RES to 1440p or lower some settings but no he want it full so go back and read it FULLY.

I could claim most cards are 4k cards if the game is old enough and settings low enough going by your delusional outlook.

Fact is the 780Ti is not a 4k card nor is the 1080Ti or Titan Xp 2017 (I owned/own both) and IMO the 780Ti was a let down.

@Poneros Can't watch the video's at the moment so not sure if you're telling me that my personal opinion is wrong or not. Works for me though. :)

What the videos show is that it depends.

I can totally relate to those video's but it's not the full story. I have found some games have that shimmering effect and others don't. In Rdr 2 if you turn off taa it's instantly noticeable but in other games its not there.

There are many different AA methods and no set way to implement them

Yup. And like you point with RDR2, there it's awful, but not nearly as bad as GTA 5 - that was the worst I've ever seen. In some cases, eg Witcher 3, AA is almost useless, while in others it makes a world of a difference. There's many variables, but resolution alone doesn't help you get rid of aliasing issues. Not 4K, and not 8K (excluding downsampling as that's post-process AA in a way). It's really dependant most of all on devs' choices and how they tackle the issue from the beginning.

Keep telling yourself that then run RDR2 at 4K, GTA 5, The Witcher 3, Kingdom come deliverance;)
Oops sorry you can't see the difference lol but I can:)

Multi-GPU hating is a meme now. No one really understands why they're doing it but they keep hearing others do it, so monkey see monkey do. :p

I'm with you tho, it's so great in those games.

Its not about performance when it works its about if it works after about 2015 support in games dropped like a stone.

Out of the gamnes mentioned: 2x 2015 games a 2018 game and a 2019 game, WOW Great Multi GPU support, SO worth would have worth me getting a 2nd 1080ti or 2x 2080ti's for. don't kid your self that second card is idle in 95% of games, Destiny 2 is the only have game that comes to mind recently which had support

Ironically if nvidia pushed devs to use it again with RTX then it would have gotten a 2nd wind.

ps I do run the wither 3 at 4k on my TV but my main gaming screen is a 100hz 1440p ultra wide.

It works in most of the games I actually play, I agree support is patchy, Assassins creed Odyssey comes to mind.
Clearly it doesn't work or scale in a few games BUT it does work in the more demanding ones I spend time with. As for 95% can you back that number up?

Nvidia tweeted then deleted a video of a blinking eye, what does it mean?
