NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

ive always had nvidia cards in my setup but with everything they have to test the water with new tech yes we early adapters pay the the new tech the 3080ti will be better but for me im not gonna spend £2000 grand on a card to see faster frames in my games so no. they reason why i say 2000 grand is because there was a new 2080ti at 1700 quid for a 2080ti lol..

You need to spend more than 2 grand for the best mate. Titan RTX costs more. It has 24GB!! Quickly sell you 2080 Ti and upgrade so you have the best, trust me, it's worth it :p;)

Sorry could not help it, was all based on what you said here:

You pay the price for the best performance will I did this time and haven’t been let down .

RTX in a nutshell. Drivel/tripe/utter rubbish

You really do show a lack of knowledge and do come across as rather bitter. All my RT games are perfectly playable and look great. Metro Exodus is amazing, as is Control with RT on and I am more than happy with frame rates. You stick to your 1080 and crack on bleeting, whilst us with the 20 series enjoy what we have :)

Haha. Why you letting him wind you up Gregster? :D

You know how it works, if you are enjoying it means you are getting your moneys worth which is great. But you know not everyone will agree on RTX in it's current form ;)

3000 series cannot come soon enough. Well anytime before April. I will get mine around then if it is out. Won't need it until then myself.

Dont really give a hoot about RTX, but I would like more GPU grunt so I'll likely be upgrading as the 1070ti I got at launch will be knocking on for 3 years old by then. Plays everything fine now, but I only game at 1080p because I like to keep FPS close to my 144hz refresh, which is fine with current games (minus GTA5), but I would like to maybe try UW gaming at high refresh rates.

Why would I be bitter?? I have no shares in Nvidia so why would I be bitter? If you are suggesting I can't afford a 2080Ti then that is laughable. You know nothing of my personal finnances but I can well afford a graphics card lol.

I have played RTX and I'm amazed that people are taken in by it. It looks marginally better at best (unless playing a title a quarter of a centruy old :p) and TANKS performance. Just because you have been suckered in by the marketing doesnt mean those who haven't are wrong or bitter.

Certainly doesn't wind me up lol. I actually find it comical but I have always been a little twisted.... 300 series needs to stay away lol :D :D

All games with the so called RT can be made without that RT and look the same or better.
nvidia removes the reflections which are normally there, and then slaps RT and shouts they discovered the hot water. They didn't.

Easy tiger!!! I never said you couldn't afford one or even came close to insinuating the likes. Not sure why you jumped on that defensive tactic???

What RTX games have you played and on what system? When you have an understanding of how RT works over forced shadows etc, you might have a bit more respect for it. Devs lives are made so much easier, shadows are far superior and reflections are as they should be. Sure the 20 series is the first round of GPUs that actually can cope and cope well. I can go back 20 years + and remember seeing RT and OMFG, not even close to what we have now and would take summit like 30 minutes to render a 480P frame using RT.

I have no wish to be set in the stone ages with technology and love the fact we are striving forward. I remember playing Pacman/Defender/Space Invaders/Pong and so glad we have progressed.

The thing is that you need 3nm transistors or better in order to have the processing power for something meaningful being ray-traced. You can't do anything at 16nm or 14nm, as nvidia tries to force you to believe.

NVidia were not even close to discovering (What the **** is "the hot water"?) RT but you are so so wrong. RT makes devs lives easier, it is accurate and looks the nuts and I am talking just shadows here. When we get to full screen RT, then we will have found "the holy grail".

Of course you Insinuated I can't afford one. By saying I'm bitter for not having one CLEARLY insinuates you think I can't buy one.

Let's not be childish now. Everyone can see what that means and how it's message is intended.

I have a choice and I choose not to support Nvidia this round because I think they are mugging me off. I won't be taken the pee out of by them.

I've shown in my previous thread what I believe they are pulling.

RT can not make the devs lives easier because they must explain why the framerates drops to unplayable levels.

The current RT implementation by nvidia is the same as putting a lipstick on a pig.

You have shown previously that you don't really know what you are on about and are doing the same here. Why does it have to be 3nm? Why can't RT be done on separate cores? Why is RT doing well on the current GPUs but that isn't good enough and needs 3nm? Absurd logic!

Seperate raytracing CARD and I'll get on board. That way I can avoid it until it's ready and worth while.
Until then I begrudge being forced to pay for it on my GPU when its basically crap.

This is the last time I will quote you, as I don't actually believe you read anything and just live in your own little world of fairies and pixies. You carry on and have fun my friend :D I enjoy a reasoned debate but never get that with you.

RT is doing poorly :D

I've no idea who you are talking to, I assume not me. Must be someone I can't see that I have blocked lol.
