NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

NVidia seem to have a really bad product in the Ampere cards and they seem to be going to extremes to get them running.

Why did they not consider an AIO option for the cards instead of huge cards and coolers which are very expensive to make.

Turing was poor but Ampere is starting to look a lot worse.

We already know by what is on the box that Ray tracing is going to really tank the performance again because the Ampere cards will be using DLSS.

Why does everyone get so obsessed with power consumption? What makes 350W unreasonable? Versus what exactly?

If that's how much power it takes to shift that many pixels around at that speed then fair enough. If AMD managed to produce a card with the same performance but far lower wattage then maybe we'd have a frame of reference but until then, it is what it is.

You don't see people pointing at 11kW electric showers and saying "OMG that's ridiculous".

Heat and noise. You don't care about that in your kettle or in your shower.

it's keeping the heat and noise down

Yea to me it looks like Ampere has not went to plan architecture wise or the process from Samsung is not so good. I just can't see Nvidia at the planning stage wanting there gpu's to be over 300w. It's looking a little like Fermi but it's going to release on time.
