NVIDIA and AMD are both working toward 8K resolution, or 7680x4320

If you don't run out of VRAM (which you would) 4 Titan Blacks would manage about 15 fps @8K lol. Unfortunately you will run out of VRAM and you will need something like 10 or 12gb per card to run it.

I wonder what the Maxwell Titan will have in the way of VRAM.:D
Kaapstad can you order four of these 12GB cards below and do some tests and let us know how many FPS you get....

I Guess there not going work at 8K...

An 8K 120fps stream can be compressed to 550Mb/s down from 48Gb/s raw, something I just read that I thought was impressive.

Ever since Hawaii & Titan came out I've been wondering what exactly these companies hold back in their labs, perhaps jumping to 8K is not that crazy if they have more of these quantum leaps knocking about.

So is "7680x4320" PROPER 8k or is it another current UHD "4k" which I notice they didn't list? I'm guessing not seeing as its in the 7 range.

8K on a decent size screen with movies properly shot for it would be great.

I can't really see it being that useful overall for desktop use though - I'd far rather have a couple of 2560x1440 panels side by side.
