Nvidia and AMD users run into bugs and critical errors due to MS KB3004394 update

Well I had issues straight away when I installed the AMD Omega driver.
I had already installed that windows update previously and after installing the new driver, I had a BF4.exe error when trying to start the game.
I uninstalled the windows update in question and after running DDU and reinstalling the Omega driver it was ok, so I'm not sure what was at fault.

According to this link, the update 3024777 was released to fix the issue... which was automatically installed for me yesterday morning . Guess that's probably why I didn't see the issue as I already had the fix...

I hope this is not an excuse of some sort?, Nvidia gameworks and Ubisoft are once again in the hall of fame for driver errors and poor game code, stunning stutters there chaps.

An excuse for what? It's a thread about a Windows update causing conflict with gpu drivers on both sides of the fence...

I think this may be the cause of some issues I had with driver installation on Thurs/Friday at my family's house after I did some updates on thier PC. Typical.

Still will be able to resolve quickly.

I did have a random sound loop crash in world of warcaft yesterday which was weird, so hopefully it was just this that was the problem. Thanks for the heads up anyway... Uninstalled!

I think you could be right, as my update history tells me the update KB3004394 was installed on the 10th..but I have been looking for it since this morning and I cant find it on my system

I can still see KB3004394 in my update history which was installed on the 11th, with the fix KB3024777 installed the day after.

Ahh!! I noticed a few days ago that my PC wouldn't play a game with FRAPS and MSI AB running at the same time when they've been fine in the passed!

Wonder if this was the cause!

I have had constant crashes since this update. Uninstalled and lets hope it is now fixed.

As soon as I realised my machine had installed it, i went straight in and removed it

It caused my driver to become corrupt somehow. Reinstalling drivers and uninstalling the botched update fixed it though.
