This war is heating up , not trying to troll thought it was rather interesting
"Chip-maker Nvidia has announced a new processor destined for mobile devices that it says will offer better graphics than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3."

Obviously it wont touch on the latest gen of consoles but to have something in your phone/tablet that beats last gens consoles that's pretty amazing especially considering how long the 360/ps3 lasted for (And continue to do so)

Hopefully this kind of technology eventually gets used in a dedicated handheld from sony or nintendo. Mobile gaming is **** poor in comparison to a dedicated device with proper controls. these chips are wasted on mobiles imho.

I do feel sorry for nVidia - its like they were the only ones not invited to the party, which is essence is why they are having such a tantrum...

Just to let you guys know, my Transformers LCD watch from the 80s had more computing power than what got us to the Moon - man those NASA people are idiots...

ps3ud0

Given that my phone has 4x the ram of a ps3 already creating a chip as powerful too shouldn't be an issue.

The problem is the quality of the games for the nv device.

Who cares? Touch screens are fine for Angry Birds, not so much for anything even remotely complex control wise. Max Payne for example is just horrific on a touch screen, and GTA has many frustrating moments control wise as well. As soon as you start adding on peripherals or hooking your tablets up with a controller you might as well buy a dedicated handheld console or a home console.

It won't but it should be close enough for most people not to notice. It will still be bandwidth starved, and the OS that it will run on won't be anywhere near as optimised for gaming as a console.

Max Payne is sort of playable with a bit of tweaking but meh I don't see the point of playing FPS games on console let alone mobile, GTA is ok if you just want to drive around a bit but actually playing is way too frustrating - that said I'll never bother with a console but if I could dock my phone with a tv/monitor, grab a wireless controller and play games downloaded from the android play store I'd probably do that a bit for more casual games. My original galaxy note phone handles stuff like the mobile version of max payne suprisingly well let alone next gen mobile chipsets. (EDIT: I can actually do this to a degree now but its far from a straight forward or standardised experience).

Screens might be 1080p but I doubt the games are

Some of the tech demos like citadel do 1080p if your device supports it, not sure about the games but they run at 720p or even the full 1280x800 on my note fine, not tried them on my 1080p tablet.
